1. The Wombats – Glitterbug
This dance album has some groovy snyth hooks and sing-a-long ready vocal lines. This was, as it turned out, a better Passion Pit album than this month’s Kindred.

2. KB – Tomorrow We Live
Reach Record’s prodigy rapper released his sophomore LP featuring mainstream trap songs, R&B infused songs common to the Christian Hip Hop genre, and, get this, a lullaby. In that diverse sea of ideas, the whole is held up by a few strong tracks and ultimately hits harder than his debut album.
Standout Track: “I Believe”
3. Alabama Shakes – Sound & Color
The single “Hold On” from Alabama Shakes’ debut album promised a band devoted to Southern Rock a la Lynard Skynard. Flash forward to 2015 and the group delivers an album that hits on all kinds of genres. Leader singer and guitar player Brittney Howard continues to wow with her unique and powerful vocals even in the more subdued recordings.
Standout Track: “Don’t Wanna Fight”
4. Tyler, The Creator – Cherry Bomb
Tyler, The Creator has spent his discography daring his audience to keep listening as he dives into counter-intuitive song structures, seemingly low-quality production, and less rapping. Here, more Bastard fans jump ship as Tyler messing with the gritty instrumentation and mixing that gets close to matching his abrasive lyrical content.

5. Blur – The Magic Whip
This may be the closest thing to a new Gorillaz album, so that’s why it’s here.
